Complete dressage newbie advice needed (first test in 2 weeks)

Hiya and welcome dressage! First just relax and enjoy it and remember is supposed to be fun!

Just a few general things for turnout, your horse/pony should be plaited and generally tidied up.

Make sure you have a plain saddlecloth, you can use any colour but the most accepted and smartest is white, so a white saddle cloth.

You can put boots on your horse in the warmup but remember to take them off for the test.

for you white/biege jods, a black/navy jacket, either a plain collored shirt or a stock and pin, black/white gloves

if you have long hair make sure you have a hair net or tie it up in a bun.

as far as the test goes just relax and enjoy it, good luck

Hello, I'm new on here!

The best advise I think is to rememeber to ride the test - don't just do the movements. When this finally clicked with me my marks got much better, I was so caught up with remembering what came next that I wasn't thinking about what I was doing at the time!

Oh and of course have fun - don't put too much pressure on yourself then you can stay nice and relaxed!

Snaffle bit ( safe option), no rubber bit rings. Wait for bell before you enter the arena at A. Check rules as lots of places expect hat with 3 point fixing. Enjoy and good luck.
