Hi,
I want to feed a complete feed this year, instead of adding vitamins and various supplements.
I have 6 + 1 foal to feed and apart from one they are good doers and either at rest or minimal work, but I want to make sure they get all the vitamins they need especially the youngsters.
I will bulk it out with a bit of chaff and fibre-beet or speedi-beet.
I've been looking at Primero Total, but don't know of anyone who has used this. Top Spec seems to have good reviews. Also, British Horse Feed cubes seem to have more added than other cubes but I assume are still lacking in other vitamins.
(Mixes especially conditioning mix sends them mad!)
Any advice would be appreciated - thanks.

Bailey's Gro 'n' Win Balancer. it's for all horses, not just breeding stock, and is half the price of Blue Chip etc. i feed that plus a mix of hi-fi, alfa-a, readigrass, and sugar beet, and that's basically all they get unless they're in medium work.

Hate to pull you up but Bailey's is now called Stud Balancer as Gro'n'Win was bought by Spillers! They still do a fantastic job though whatever they call it! If they're very good doers, then the Lo-Cal Balancer could be right for them but the foal would be better on the Stud Balancer. Think you can buy a bag of each for what it would cost for one Blue Chip now!

pink powder is excellent. have realy noticed a diference in my 2 since feeding it. and they are complete opposites, feed it to my TB who is cereal and sugar intolerant so gets unmollased chaff and alfa beet with pink powder, and my shetland filly so she gets all the vitamins she needs without adding calories!

ive had better results from NAF pink powder than top spec balancer or suregrow with my 2 and much cheaper too

I feed Spillers Hi Fibre cubes (not enough for her to get all vitamins required) so I also feed the recommended number of Equi Bites (5) - she's stopped puting weight on and seems very fit and healthy with plenty of energy. Did think about Top Spec because I've heard good reports but what I'm doing seems to be working so I'll leave well alone.
