Little orange mare needs something to help keepwieght on, she is worked 3 x week in School for 45min and has one 1 hour hack. Has lost weight over withers and point of hip, eveywhere is is ok, she is shiney and no ribs can be seen. Shes an easy ride and not silly or sharp, but can be lazy at times. She crib bites- although this is getting less and less. She is on 1 scoop of Hifi and 3/4 scoop of High fibre cubes- what can I give her that wont make her silly, but will addweight but also wont trigger her cribbing.
Also she is 6 anda TB.
Or should i just rug her more to stop using up the energy?

You could add sugarbeet - although I prefer speedibeet - I would always go with more fibre before adding anything at all heating - you could also change the Hifi to something with more in it, like alfalfa

Definitely change the HiFi - it is really a low-calorie chaff. You could use Alfa A Oil instead, or normal Alfa A or Alfabeet and add some veg oil yourself. Make sure she gets adlib hay as well - ie enough so there is some left in the morning.

You could also try giving her an extra feed each day if that is possible.

Would also recommend simple system, has worked wonders for some of our horses that could not get weight on any other way with out sending them nuts.

Agree with The_Winter ....speedibeet is good for weight gain...

Cribbing can be caused by excess stomach acid from sugary and rich foods. I think sugar beet may add the condition you want but is quite likely to trigger the cribbing.
You could always try feeding an antacid supplement like Settlex in your feed. It doesnt work for every horse but does for most cribbers and wind-suckers. It might well be worth a go.
