Compliment from my farrier

After a 20 year relationship with my farrier (strictly trims and shoeing) today he paid me a compliment.
I always make sure ponies are in, as dry and clean as possible, feet picked out and a couple of difficult ones I have worked with so they now all stand reasonably quietly for him. Four out of six are very well behaved and two fidget a bit. I always pay my bill immeadiately.
So a comment about what a good customer I am or how nice my ponies are would have been good.
But what I got was, “At least when I come here I know I will get a decent cup of coffee”.

Well he could have left out the "at least" but frankly what you do and have done is what we all should do. I don't expect my farrier to shoe/trim wet muddy feet, not do I expect him to deal with ill mannered horses and ponies and goodness he should be paid on time but he gets a decent cup of coffee, well, that is to be celebrated!
