I've always ridden in stainless steel knife edge irons, but I went over on one ankle about 10 years ago and since then it's been much weaker than the other, and sometimes hurts quite badly when I ride.

I'm currently trying out my sister's Compositi Premium stirrups and am noticing a big difference. My ankle's been fine, and they seem much easier to keep my feet in, normally I'm constantly adjusting my feet in my stirrups but in these ones they seem to stay put!

I'd like to get a pair, but I've also heard good things about the Compositi Reflex stirrups. Has anyone tried those and/or the Premium ones? How do you find them to ride in? I'm not completely convinced I understand what the differences between the two are ...

Thanks in advance :)

I have the Reflex ones and am really pleased with them. They completely stop that ache you get on the outside of your knee (if you get that! It's always plagued me). They have a slightly springy tread that seems to make all the difference.

I rode home from a show in my normal irons, probably only 40 mins and was in agony when I got back and felt it every time I rode for a few weeks after.

The Reflex have a wider tread than the Premiums too which has saved my bacon a few times!

Yep, I have a pair of the Reflex one, they are indeed worth every penny! Initially I bought some iron flexible stirrups but didn't notice much difference, the Compositis are amazing

I like the sound of these and are reasonable too, what about the safety aspect, I current ride with bent leg irons as want to limit the risk of being dragged (not that I'm trying to fall off!). Are they lightweight and do you have trouble finding them as not the weight of a traditional iron hanging down?

Sorry to hijack!

They're very lightweight, I've never had trouble finding them, I've not lost one yet though. I do have safety stirrups too so I know what you mean, I think a lot about falling off myself, but have told myself anyway that the Composotis are quite roomy, I don't feel like my foot would necessarily get stuck in them.
