Concerning behaviour - stress and sickness - are they related?

Just wanted to see if any of you have ever experienced anything like this?

Bracken, a 4yo lab, has recently had yet another period of sickness where she is sick about 2-3 times per day, for 3-5 days. :( it appears to coincide with a day or two after times when she is stressed - this time we think it was new years eve fireworks.

Seen vet several times, this has gone on for over a year - she'll have an epiosode like this every 6 weeks or so. Vet can't really find anything, and has suggested different foods to try avoiding. She is currently on a complete dry food of some description (sorry don't know as its my parent's dog, but can find out). I know my parents have had some conversations with feed reps and vet/vet nurse/ pet food store about which dried food and have changed that once or twice.

She was ill during the time when there was a problem with fungi and dogs in Thetford forest, and vets suspected that for that particular episode. She is walked in the forest most days, so it could be still related to that, but that wouldn't explain why she is ok for weeks on end would it?

And if it is stress related, would that explain sickness for days at a time? I thought in general animals live more in the moment, and so surely its unlikely that she stresses for days on end?

Any thoughts appreciated on this one. Thanks.

I know someone with a boxer like this - she was a breeding bitch and never properly socialised so gets very stressy at minor stuff all the time. They get round it purely with training and tons of exercise so she is focussed on her work and too tired to get stressed.

You could also try a DAP diffuser for the stress and maybe an echinacea or other immune boosting supplement in case there is an underlying problem
