Can anyone tell me what exactly the concours d'elegance class actually is? I am thinking the in hand one. What are you actually judged on? sorry if its a thick question

It's an old fasioned showing class where the ladies wear long cloaks / gowns. I'm sure Deefa put some piccies in the PG not long ago.

ahh thanks but in my catalogue it states period costume for the ridden classes but conventional dress for the inhand. So what kind of things would you wear??? Are you judged on how you look or how your pony shows??? Sorry am confused!

I havent a bloomin clue. I didnt even know it existed until about 6 months ago. .
But I'd assume that you'd do well to wear a long skirt, hat etc (a bit like LR mummies).

Howdy!! Does this mean we will see you at MHOYS at the end of the month? Daughter is doing that class too.
Basically elegance, old fashioned type stuff, if you go to MHOYS website then go to last years pictures you can get an idea.
I think they tend to go on the pony a certain bit as the winner didnt look so impressive as some!

Hi marsden, yes im at Royal London next weekend and mhoys the week after. Are you doing any other classes??

From my understanding its judged on your over all impression of how you look.... rather than on performance...
Usually the nicest costume wins... or so it would seem.

Yes, it is judged on the over all look, not how fab the horse is.

we are doing all sorts i think more for a giggle as ours are not "posh" and sexy like inky!! doing min yearling class obviously and mini shetland with Storm, another one here and there, then evening the con cors and fancy dress, then hoping that daughter will be tired enough to go to sleep!!
We will be in silver and green equicruiser 3 I think......look out for us and say Hi!! Grandma is also coming (non horsey!) should be fun, cant wait!!!
We were going in the transit conversion but that meant camping!! , my mother is 72 and it was freezing this morning so opted for a bit of comfort this time of year, feel free to come get some heat if you need to warm up!! xx
Also doing some fun stuff on the Sunday, more our level!!
