Concussive/traumatic laminitis

If your horse comes down with first symptoms of concussive laminitis, do you treat it EXACTLY the same as obesity/ carb overload laminitis?
I.e bute, box rest, shaving bed, soaked hay etc

Yes I would but you really need a vet to diagnose and advise, bute to relieve pain by reducing inflammation, deep bed to support the feet and give comfort, soaked hay to reduce the sugars which even in concussive laminitis will not help if too high, getting some weight off, unless poor already, will aid recovery.

Yes the same but under veterinary supervision, have had a horse with concussive laminitis. the only difference was she was allowed back out much earlier than had she had obesity related laminitis. Box rest for ten days only.

so you will also be checking foot balancing, walls are not longer than the sole and worn evenly so avoid concussive laminitis in future, are the feet cold, feet are unusually cold at the very start of laminitis that is when the damage happens to the laminae as the blood cannot flow properly so they die, then they get hot, so do not cold hose them. Which stage are you at. Do you have a strong pulse.
