Earlier back in the spring I posted about my confidence issues after taking 2 crashing falls in the space of a week and I figured it was time for a quick update.
The first thing is that I've ridden both the 2 horses who fired me off and I'm back to normal on both of them. The first chap took me 2 months to get back up on but he felt the horse of old when I did and we're working well together. The second chap was sold on as his owner wanted something different and I really do miss him. He was quirky but taught me a lot. Hes gone to a good home though.
I also a month after this all happened did my first dressage competition and am totally HOOKED!!!!. Omg it was fantastic. I went in with the intention of completing it. We got 111 on prelim test 1. The only way from there is up!!
Finally I went several steps back with my jumping and its paying off. I'm sticking with 40cm fences and am jumping without worrying about it as I did before. Extra lessons jumping a small course at this height are really helping.
Oh and I trying for my Stage 1 riding again next year. So to that end I have a mock assessment in the yard where I'll take the real one next summer.
So much to do but I'm getting there
