As some of you know I came off a few weeks ago and fractured my ribs. I have only back on foxy twice since then. Today I was riding another girl on my yards cob and we had to go past a building site. It has been very windy recently and the wind caused a metal grille/gate to rattle, said cob jumped to one side and I fell onto the road. A driver who had been behind us until this point decided to take advantage of the gap in between me and the horse and drove through  So after managing to get up, I found that my legs were shaking so badly I couldn't stand and had to half walk half crawl to a bis stop to sit down. The girl who was with me managed to get through to someone on the yard who walked down to meet us and walked me back up.

Oh, poor you. I've been through it too and it takes courage, determination, time and for me a bottle of Kalm tablets, two at a time mind, to get back in the saddle and start getting confidence back. Repetition is good, too.

Why don't you try having a few lessons or advertise for a bombproof pony or horse to ride locally and you before you know it you will be back to your old self.

Good luck x

Lessons on the lunge helped my confidence loads. I was petrified to canter and now I'm doing xc with my horse get a good instructor and get on the lunge you'll be fine in no time :)

Where are you based, if your near by I can give you the contacts of my instructor who gave me lunge lessons on her horses :)

I'm sorry, you fell off and the driver drove past you didn't even stop to ask if you were ok:eek::( i'm shocked how appalling

Glad you weren't hurt though, agree with the others find a good instructor :)

I think you need to ride in a really soft school, with an instructor, perhaps even on the lunge? I know how awful it feels to lose your confidence, particularly after an accident because the pain memory makes you worse. Is there a school you can ride at? I dont have any suitable horses otherwise you could come ride mine. xxxx

Poor you, you are having a bad time and understandable why your knees were knocking, mine would have been too. What a dipstick to drive past you, pity your friend didn't get their number as you could have reported them to the police for dangerous driving. But your confidence will come back breaking something is very painfull and you are very werey for a while, I am when my young dog broke one of my finger last August, but am now getting a little bolder using it around the horses and dogs, not worrying that it or another will get broken again.
