confidence(or the lack of it!)

firstly hi to all, im a newbie on this site so here goes my 1st post.
confidence ,or rather the lack of it , i used to be such a confident rider until i had an rta on a previous horse, i didnt realise i had lost it untill i bought my 1st horse last year, unfortunatly it didnt work out for us as we both looked to each other for confidence, i made the heartbreaking decision to sell her and i found her a wonderful home. i know im not the only one out here to go through this, so how did some of you get through the confidence issue.

im not going to give up im already trying to look for my right horse.

hello.
what you need to look for is a really experienced horse and have lessons or even go to a riding school just to reassure yourself that you can do it. then once you feel more confident have lessons at home or ride out with someone. know it doesn't sound exciting but it may reassure your subconcious (ie most of you feels fine but there is that nagging voice saying what may go wrong in the back of your head!!)

Firstly welcome! I think there are plenty of horses out there that would be right for you - how about loaning or sharing for a while with something bombproof and then you'll get to find out the sort of horse you want!

Everyone has their own wish list but I have 2 tbs that are great on the road, and to me that's very important, so don't be fooled by a horses appearance....

hello and welcome, I have quite a few confidence issues, thankfully my boy is bombproof in traffic, although he is sometimes a bit unsure of himself out hacking alone so i have to be brave for him and slowly doing this is actually helping me.

Hello. You poor thing.
It's all in finding the right Horse. It took me 3 to find the right one, and we found each other. I used to dread riding my last Horse, now I love it! You did the right thing selling on. Just take your time when buying.
On the roads...I don't ride on the road anymore. Way too many lunatics.
