Well today is the first day I have got to see Beauty and Foxy in 3 weeks. Beautys weight has dropped a little but I can deal with that but when I went to get foxy he kicked out at me, bit my arm repeatly and reared up. Apparently there has been some drunken teenagers in the fields messing with the horses :mad:but one of them broke their leg. Then I took foxy out riding and he was really strong but I understood if he hadn't been out for a while, I didn't really want to go fast today so I stuck to mainly walk and trot with bits of canter but at one point we went from halt, (I was sorting my stirrups )straight into gallop, I thought I was going to come off. Then I was cooling him off in the menage when he did a full 360 spin and continued to canter off, jumped the gate, went down into the yard in canter. I tried halting, half halting, putting my weight in my bum, leaning on the reins. He would not stop. I was in tears by the time I reached the yard. Luckily there was someone there who grabbed him while I got off. My confidence is just gone, I am supposed to be going out on a 3 hour hack tommorow but I am finding reasons not to go

I hope you do not mind me asking, why you had not been to see them for 3 weeks?

If yobs had been in the field then they will have been upset by that ( at least one of the yobs got what he deserved)

Please suck it up and do not loose faith, maybe some ground work to get the trust back would be a good idea

Good luck x

Deffianltly the yobs have upset them then, just take it slowly and make every thing you do with them the best thing ever.

My boy went out on loan, and he was so horribly treated it was almost a year before I could confidantly handle him ( not saying this is how it will be with you), what I had to do was just reward everytime he even came near me, and move slowly.

Your two only had 3 weeks without you, to my never ending guilt my boy was nealry a year away from me, so I am sure you will be back to normal in no time :)

Foxy will come right, just needs to get his confidence back - and yours will come back leaps and bounds the more you see him. keep us posted ! sm x
