Confirmed JG Hearing Monday 14th

It is great that Racing channel 4 have put a brilliant letter on to the website to send to Judge Kainth but they have put the address on - but how is any correspondence going to get to him by OUR post by Monday 14/4 - so Im giving out his email address again - skainth@twclaw.co.uk and Im now putting the letter that was on channel 4 racing under Amersham horses into this message plus a few extras and amendments from myself - please use with pleasure and try to email to Judge Kainth with letter not as attachment as they probably will not even bother to open up.

Good luck!

Date

Deputy District Judge Kainth
Oxford Magistrates Court
PO Box 37

Oxford

Judge Kainth,

Re: Return of Amersham Horses to James Gray and Family

It is with shock that I hear that you have ordered 29 donkeys and ponies to be returned to Mr James Gray and his family and that you believe the family consider some of the donkeys and Shetland ponies to be pets!?

I can only suggest that these animals are being treated and spoken about merely as objects and passed off as a paperwork exercise by yourself and the court.

If you have reason to reject Mr Gray’s application to have the remaining 82 animals returned then obviously ALL the animals should have been denied a return back to Mr Gray. In no way should the 82 other animals be sold at auction in May in Warwickshire. These animals have been such a traumatic experience. Are you an animal lover? If not then you should not have been allowed to take on this case.
The RSPCA should be allowed to oversee the re-homing of the animals in order to safeguard their future welfare.
Surely you cannot seriously believe that the donkeys and Shetland ponies have to be returned to the Grays because there is no evidence to show they are in any danger. These animals have been through a disgusting ordeal and should not then be thrown onto a lorry, terrified and saddened, after thinking they had escaped their nightmare life with the Grays’ only to be sent to a public auction and even worse for the donkeys and Shetlands of which many are only babies to be sent on a lorry on a long drive to Italy or elsewhere to be slaughtered after a hellish journey in order to end up as meat.

Please please change your mind and show some humanity and humility for these poor helpless creatures.
If these animals are returned or sold then it will be an absolute disaster and will set a terrible precedent for any future cruelty cases.
The British are supposed to be a nation of animal lovers – if you carry through this appalling act many of us will never be able to hold our heads high up again having been helpless to stop this terrible cruel injustice to god’s creatures.

PLEASE TRY TO IMAGINE WHAT THESE ANIMALS HAVE BEEN THROUGH……AND WHY YOUR DECISION IS SO SO WRONG.

I enclose for your consideration just a few letters sent to The Times on Saturday regarding this case

"Surely its time legislation was changed to make a distinction between abused living creatures and mere property? "

"How this judge can think for one moment that these are pets, beggers belief. His ability to hold office should be questioned. I sincerely hope the animal charities who rescued and nursed these creatures back to life are successful in keeping the animals away from this evil trader in blatant animal abuse. Next time you eat salami, spare a thought for what goes into it. If we banned the export of live horses, ponies and donkeys for slaughter to the continent it would go some way to stopping this disgusting, barbaric trade. I hope this "farmer" and his family get what they deserve.
How many people have 29 donkeys and horses as 'family pets'? Has Sandeep Kainth seen the conditions in which these 'pets' were kept? If he has then he should be relieved of his duties. What a ridiculous, wicked ruling. As for Mr Gray, this man should NEVER ,EVER be allowed to keep any pets, EVER"
.

"A lifetime ban from keeping animals (even as a pet let alone as a business) plus a lengthy prison sentence would be the right outcome, I doubt it'll happen though.
I wonder if he's claiming legal aid? "

Yours faithfully,

Did you send this letter ? Be careful, you did attack him and questioned him on ruling and all we were going to ask was to reverse his decision about returning the donkeys/ponies to J.G and for all animals to remain in the charities care until the court has decided if he guilty or not,and the end of the day he has not been found guilty or innocent and we do NOT want to make the judge angry or he might dismiss the case ? we got to be very very careful what we write

It was hardly an attack by Dollybean - these views were published in National Press. There will be plenty of people writing their thoughts and probably not as politely as Dollybean. The man obviously has no compassion for animals which will annoy plenty. Your gently, gently approach may work but unfortunately I feel you may be in the minority of peoples thoughts and I am sure given the chance there would be plenty who would stand and deliver for these poor defenceless creatures.

I actually did not think it was an attacking letter it was merely stating the truth - lets face it - if he is what he seems and what the letter from Channel 4 racing states (not me) that he is NOT an animal lover then it will not make a lot of difference whether you are gentle with him or otherwise because he will have made up his mind already. And don't you think that there will be thousands of others who will be 'attacking ' him verbally or otherwise because people are so angry at his decision. The thing that counts is getting the message over to the public - either by internet or by national media resources i.e newspapers - if you appear to be too gentle then it makes his job even easier at sticking to his original decision - he will be under enormous public pressure in the next week and I fear you and others with the 'gentle approach' could be trampled underfoot.' Sorry but that is my opinion.

Yes he is under enormous public pressure - thanks to the quick thinking people of this forum as well as other forums, and websites......

The Gentle approach will not be trampled - it is this gentle approach that is needed to STOP people who wish to jump in with two front feet without thinking!

Crikey Voicesforhorses - you were slow on this one today!!! We knew about this at ten am this morning!

The website within channel 4 racing is www.racingpost.co.uk where they give the letter and if you study it you will see that the additions I made to it are very compassionate and heartfelt so Im sorry if people think I have done the wrong thing but I cannot see what possible harm I have done. And if paddywhack had studied it very carefully she would have seen that the negative comments did not come from my mouth but ALREADY PRINTED readers letters of The Times so really I think Paddywhacks comments are a tad unfair .

I don't doubt that he is under pressure and are you surprised -but does he realise this? I think not. I do not agree that everyone should go in 'all guns blazing' but I DO think a stand has to be made otherwise this could change the way other cruelty cases are dealt with in the future. It is obvious that little thought or feeling has been given by the Judge to the case whereas I feel had this been heard by shall I say an 'old time' judge it may have been viewed differently! If we are VERY lucky he may receive all emails prior to the hearing - somehow I seriously doubt this will happen.

Got to collect them first and that should take all day and anyway who are they for? but thanks for the suggestion horsemad - many would think for me the way my posts have been received - but heyho - are you gong Monday horsemad?

Here is message about Times online where the letter quotes

It also got a mention in the Times this morning to which I have tried to post a couple of comments, but not sure if they will appear. Also the Buckinghamshire Examiner has an article.

I am just concern that if we are agressive towards him he might say sod you and will not even try to reverse his decision and that what we are all working towards at the moment(14500 signatures now),my emstion are running high about this case and i feel physical sick thinking that the judge may not reverse his decision and they got to go back to J.G and sold at the auction !!
I am old enough to realise that sometimes agressive attitude is just a waste of energy and gets you nowhere, but that just my personal experience !
And yes Ovidius i will attend if i can sort out child care tomorrow afternoon !

There is a time to charge forward and a time to step lightly and I am following the lead from HHO warning. "Your posts could cause the case to be abandoned if the judge feels there can no longer be a fair trial." Voices for Horses works with equine welfare across the board not just this case. There is also a bigger picture here.

I will be there tomorrow and if anyone wants to meet up please PM me and I will give you a mobile number.
