confo wise is there something wrong with this horses legs?

hes very long in the body also, but to be fair he looks a hairy sort and i dont think the left on legs of the clip does him any favours.

if you want a show winner no, if you just want a general riding horse then I wouldnt be worrying to much.

Ok - I'm not very good at this but...

I'd say firstly that the clip does him no favours.

He looks either old or in poor-ish condition which again doesn't help.

Neither does the angle of the shot, which make his straight hind legs look worse.

Having said that, if he's a good nature and does his job, none of that should matter.

I'd rather have a nice horse with the conformation of a llama than Pegasus reborn with the temperament of Medusa.

Yes too straight behind and really upright in front. Looks like he's leaning forward on his tippee toes!

Found his ad and he looks better in the ridden picture, but still a little straight behind.

Quite frankly I think its a dreadful photo to be making any real sound judgement on the poor boy. Were they any other photos showing him at a better angle? Personally I think the clip is not helping the look of his legs and his feet are muddy etc. I wouldn't write him off based on this one bad photo.

that's what I think too. Terrible photo, it's not stood up at all. I wouldn't discount it because of that.

That's what I call a "plonky" horse/pony the legs are so straight that when they move there's no real elevation or bounce to the animal's paces as the legs just sort of "plonk" down giving a bone jarring ride! Well that's my two penneth anyways.

I agree completely with this - the clip and angle of the photo don't allow an accurate judgement to be made at all!

If you don't want to show (and he is being sold as a hunter) then Party Politics won the National with straighter hind legs than this horse. For the right price (cheap) I think he looks quite nice and if his temperament is good he could be just the ticket.

his legs are perfect ... one in each corner and they all reach the ground. There again i came last in stock judging young farmers 1983 so dont listen to me

Terrible hind leg cnformation. Lack of muscle in the gluteal area, straight through the hock and under developed thigh. Other than that, straight shoulder and slightly over at the knee.

Not a good enough photo to make an accurate assessment of the horse. It could have poor leg conformation, but it probably isn't "terrible" or "awful", and it probably does its job without problems!

Doesn't look too bad generally - you could rip most of our horses to bit on a bad photo. It needs to put weight on, and be stood up properly. It will look like a completely different horse come summer no doubt. Half the hunters in the country look like this by this time in winter!

If the horse was the type that you wanted, and the right price, then it shouldn't put you off going and having a look - where you can make a proper decision on how he is built/goes...

Some of the people on here are so critical it sounds like they're writing an college essay or live on planet perfection.

The hind feet long = collapsed heels that need lifting.

Front feet, too small, looks like the toe has been dumped and shortened and again the heels have collapsed/disappeared!

With sympathetic shoeing could be sorted and prob make a nice little horse.
