Come on then, tell me about my Fly! He is a 11 yo DWB by Fan Holland. I am useless as studying conformation, I just know what I like. Would like to know what you reckon. Excuse the fact he is carrying a little too much condition (an on-going problem!). Ta! xx

Oh, sorry, had a good look through photos and have only got these... will try and get some tomorrow. Makes me think that perhaps he doesn't look so good side on! Still love him though!!xx

He makes a pleasing overall picture, I'm not sure if the shoulder angle, it's something that always confuses me so will be interested to see if that is upright, angled or what!
He is lovely looking anyway

Its kinda hard to get a proper look, bit i think he's a nice sort.

his shoulder is quite upright, but his neck is 'set on' nicely (the only consequence is that he'll have a fair bit of head and neck movement in walk!)

it looks to me like he's more suited in physique to dressage, as his shins are closer in length to the upper leg than to half that. (the guide we were taught to use was canon bones count for 1/3 of leg, forearm counts for 2/3 for a jumper, and more like 1/2 and 1/2 for dressage)

His pasterns are quite upright, very common in DWB and hanoverians, but his feet match so your farrier is obviously good. if they didn't i'd be concerned about tendon problems.

He seems to match front and quarters, and to not have much room in between - this would make it difficult for him to bend round your leg, but not impossible with some wrok.

he's got a good deep chest and looks to have plenty between his front legs, making him good for a gallop!

he's got a nice friendly eye, but looks like he could be a bit timid - he looks almost worried, but its not necessarily a bad thing.

His cheek is round, but not overly large, suggesting he's got a stubborn streak that comes out as if he's being stupid - pretends he doesn't understand in attempt to fustrate you!

he's got plenty of room between his eyes which lends itself to an intelligent horse, who thinks about things before he reacts. and he nose, in profile is flat to slightly dished, which fits with the comment above about space between the eyes.

His chin is soft, but his top lip is somewhat pre-hensile which suggests he is generally calm but likes to be centre of attention, and likes to play with things.

but that's just my opinions, from the pictures ive seen. i'd be interested to know how accurate that is!

Jencash - WOW very good! Very accurate except he was bred to jump but has done dressage (not with me, i'm not good enough)! He is affectionate to his friends but if he doesn't like you or is in a strop he will show it clearly and even try to intimidate and bully you but as with all bullies deep down he is a coward. He can be quite spooky and a bit timid and is deninately stubborn. He is a very intelligent horse who has a deep sense of self preservation and does 'think' things out. He does indeed DEMAND attention and is insainly jealous. I am very impressed, you have a special gift, thankyou!xx
