Afternoon all, just a quick conformation question.

My 3yo has really short cannons in comparison to his forearms, which makes his "knees" lower to the ground than the middle of his leg...

Is this good or bad (or doesn't it matter at all?)

It's just something someone pointed out to me last week, and now I've seen it it is very evident in his photos!

short cannon bones are ideal conformation, its much stronger and the tendons and ligaments are under less natural strain. the longer the cannon bone potentially the weaker the structure

and they generally jump better as they can tuck them up more easily, always look for horses with short cannon bones all round. less strain on hocks too.

I think this is one of the best photos I have which shows the difference between cannon and forearm :)
