Hi All,

Jasper has a couple of fleece coolers, but I'd like to get him a "proper" cooler and am completely confused as to which would be the best to get? My initial thought was Thermatex, but they are very expensive! Are they really worth the money, or would a cheaper version such as the Weatherbeeta Thermocell do the job just as well? Does anyone have a Regulator Rug from IV Horse? I'd like to hear any feedback on them! I've also come across the Bucas Shamrock Power Cooler that looks quite good too!

Please vote for which rug you think is best and tell me why.....

Thanks :D

Just realised, I forgot to add the IV Horse Regulator Rug to the poll - sorry! Could you just type below if you vote for that one please? Thanks :)

I love myThermatex rugs. Fab coolers, particularly in the winter when they're enough to stop even a clipped horse getting chilly after work, I also use mine as a stable rug this time of year & as a layer in the winter. Both my boys are in them tonight (hunter clipped welsh cob & unclipped but fine coated ID) - it was warmish when I left the yard & they'd have sweated up under a normal rug but they were fine with these on & will be warm enough when the temperature drops tonight.

I also have a WB Thermocell which is a good rug but not, in my opinion, warm enough to use as a winter cooler. Again it's useful as a layer & is a nice rug but I don't think it's a match for the Thermatex.

One thing if you go for a Thermatex, go for a size smaller than usual.
