She's a 3y/o tb. There's something really strange about her front- best I can figure is that she's not standing straight (back legs are further away from the camara than her front)

hmmm i don't kno much but confo but i see you point about something being a bit strange it looks really large but i don't kno anything lol

well she certainly has a leg at each corner, even if those corners aren't square - does she gallop or paddle?

She has a pretty face though!

erm...is that photoshopped by any chance? From the ribs back it looks all clean and shiny:p

I don't think so. It's a OTTB for sale in the USA.

For me, I dont like the angle of the pasterns. But would like to see other pics. If you look at the shoulder you can see that there is a tractor tyre behind which is deceiving as it makes the shoulder look huge. Take it away and it looks ok!

ETA- Actually I quite like her!

Are you thinking of buying her?

I like her, but would want more pics as she isnt being stood up correctly. Personally I would want to see the front leg more under her shoulder if you know what I mean. And the back legs are a bit all over the place but she is a 3 year old. So bound to still be a bit gangly unless produced for the showring! And, yes, a bit under weight for showing but better than fat at this age.

I'd also want to see her moving!

I wouldnt be saying the same if she was a eight year old! But as three year old she looks ok! But nothing special if you know what I mean! I wouldnt pay silly money!

I agree with the comment about the tractor tyre. I also think it's a bad photo as her back end looks to be on higher ground than the front end and of course she's not straight. I think she could be quite nice if stood up correctly, but then I'm a sucker for TBs. She has a very pretty face

I bet she is awful to ride

Why? In what way? Just interested to know as you deal with a lot of TBs and have a much wider experience than me.

Her front end looks 4inches too low. He back end looks weak and despite the pretty face if you stuck a greyhound hea on it it wouldnt look out of place!

She might look better with more feed and some time at grass as she might still need to grow. But I don't see how she will be able to work well.

She is certainly interesting looking.

the irony is that she probably goes like a train, over short distances anyway. But like a grey hound I can see those back legs almost overtaking the front ones (see paddling comment further up)

Same horse- what do you think now?

Nope, I'm not thinking about buying her. I don't know enough to have a 3y/o. Just thought that it was an interesting pic.

Here's what her trainer says about her:

'This pretty 3 year old dark brown filly stood about 15.3 and looked to have some growing left to do. She has no vices but does have a sore left knee that will need some rest. Asking price is $600, negotiable.'

I would say definate herring gut, croup high (though the way she is stood MAY have something to do with that) and loaded shoulder though once again this may be how she is stood as looking at the beginning of the shoulder in the second pic it doesn't look as bad.
However I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Plenty more horses out there with correct conformation.

I did notice one or two knocks and bangs on her legs in the first pics you posted. I did have a little root about their photobucket account(becaue I am naturally curious)
They appear to have quite a big breeding operation, but present their horses in the most appalling way, almost like upmarket backyard breeders, and I didn't see any pictures of horses actually working and demonstrating their capabilities.

if this horse is for sale for meat money there is a reason.

There are racetracks - and there are racetracks.

These don't appear to be aimed very high, and consequently they are breeding some very poor examples. The posts on the forum have little information about what these horse have actually acheived, so it is questionable as whether they have even raced or are training cast offs. There does appear to be some kind of staging area which is called a rescue centre, but little rehabilitation appears to be going on and there also appears to be a genuine shortage of money for necessary medical care.

All credit to them for trying to advertise and sell these horses to genuine buyers, rather than going straight to the meat men and a guaranteed return - but they could do a much better job of marketing them, I think.

I think she's nothing but a baby, and could grow up into a very decent horse, if her injuries don't prevent it.

I can see looking at this why my old mare was sold at auction to her previous owners for meat money (as a 3 year old - actually 2-and-a-bit- just out of training). I've only seen 1 (bad, partial) picture of her at 3, in which she looked like a bit of string. 3 years later she had made up into a really attractive, correct, scopy animal, and I wouldn't be surprised if this one did too.

honsetly - not at all nice....sorry but i don't like that neck set, looks all wrong, still very croup high so has some growing to do, but also looks herring gutted, cut and shut job.....

Thats what I think. She's a baby and looks like a baby. She hasnt finished growing so could level out. But you dont really know what sort of start she's had and I think she is quite an immature 3 year old (looks more like my ex-two-year old) But maybe thats how they are in the US. Mind you I wouldnt take her on with a knee infection! At any price
