Congratulations Ben!!!

Delighted Tim is going. He is a great ambassador for the sport and will do the press stuff really well (which lets face the sport really needs).

Couldn't agree more...this has to be one of the most competitive teams we've had for a long time.

As for the superstar horses...well, of the top 5 or 6 in the world...Arko won't be there, Oakie Dokie won't be there (i think !?) and Jessica Kurtens two won' be there. Of those remaining, we have Peppermill on our side

That leaves Shutterfly, Cumano and Authentic by my reckoning

i expect okidoki will travell and if he doesnt Sam willbe an adequate replacement. and as for top horses, peppermills form is somewhat unreliable this season, and even if shutterfly doesnt go meredith isnt short of good horses. And No Mercy will definately be going and there are the french to consider as well, i believe they can send three and Denis lynch has better form this year than all of ours bar Ben if ireland choose to send him.

VERY pleased to hear that both Ben and Tim are on the team.
I think Ben is an amazing rider and really does deserve this, congratulations to him.

Yes they do need to be owned by someone with the same nationality. It's got around by registering a different owner e.g. when Dollar Girl's Swiss owner moved her from Thomas Fuchs to be ridden initially by John Whitaker, and later by Nick Skelton, the mare was registered as owned by Clare Whitaker. Also why lots of horses are listed as being owned by Michael Whitaker when in fact they are owned by people from other countries.

Gosh I never knew that - that's really naughty!
