Would you? I'll have to take pics of the one my YO has - he's delightful!! 3yo, dark bay and WOW!!! Not sure I'd use him on B, but on a TB............

TB x Connie is superb cross

connies also have a reputation for people starting to ride them when they've been 'let down' by other horses/breeds and then people won't ride anything else but a connie afterwards

Believe it or not I am going to agree - have a big soft spot for Connies!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However you know what I am now about to suggest..........................................................................

Oooh - that reminds me - the YO at Cliveden was just telling me the other day about a very good Connie stallion (supreme champion at the East Anglia Connie show or something) who is available for loan. I seem to have mislaid the details of his breeding etc. (apparently he's frightfully well-bred) but can easily find out if anyone here is interested.

I've been told that really good Connie stallions are quite hard to come by, and increasingly popular for crossing with TBs, etc. as well as pure-bred breeding.

Anyway, if someone here might be interested in loaning this chap, PM me and I'll get his details...

Thought about a connemara on my Atlantus mare. There used to be a really successful small hunter who was by Atlantus out of a connemara. Last week in H&H there was a WB x connemara winning intSHP for sale looked very nice. the cross would probably be good for junior's or YR horses. Would think they'd sell well. We sold a connemara X TB once , had 30 calls on first day.

My boss has desperately tried to get her mare (tb) in foal to a Connie for years, unfortunately mare didn't agree but annoyingly has gotten straight infoal to a welshy!

Hi i have a connie stallion called Dark Stranger, he has been used on tb mares, warmblood mares, id mares and of course pure bred connie mares the part bred connemaras are becoming increasingly popular, i have three part breds a yearling, a 2 year old and a 3mth old. They seem to make really good eventers, amongst other things.

Thats what mine was (by reg conne out of ISH;) he made the ultimate allrounder & had done BSJA, BE, BD, PUK, PC & hunting all by age 7; he is now a schoolmaster to a 12 year old!
