We are all very upset - we were broken into last night. Anyone in the area, please make sure you lock up your tack/take it home with you. Our official press release is below.
thanksx
The Conquest Centre exists to enable disabled people to ride for the benefit of their health and well-being. Each week the Centre supports around 144 riders.
Last night the Centre was broken into and all tack, amounting to around £50,000 was stolen. Many of our saddles are tailor made to suit individual horses and riders and therefore cost a great deal to make. The thieves broke in using crow bars and in addition to stealing the tack, they took a chainsaw, tea bags, petty cash and some horse antiseptic. Our computer and office equipment was left alone.
The Centre is absolutely devastated as you can imagine as we have had to cancel all our riders for the foreseeable future. Our riders are not only disappointed but for some this weekly therapy is their main focus, the motivation to progress in other ways.
Being of charitable status, all income generated from our riders goes towards maintaining our horses - with the inability to now generate this income, we will have to rely on donations to support our animals.
