Hope this picture works!

She's just turned 4, is about 15hh now, raced 6 times as a 2yr old and I got her 1 year ago on her 3rd birthday in pretty poor condition, awful feet, croup high and scrawny, not entirely sound and quite nervous/timid!

She's had a year off to chill out, plenty of grooming/handling/fussing, dentist and vet visits (free horses are NOT EVER cheap options! ), is sound, calm, and will lead quietly wherever I ask her to. I'm planning to start some long reining in the next month or so, with a view to re-backing her properly.

When I look at her I just see my beautiful princess :o so other opinions on her conformation/prospects will be greatly appreciated!

I'm not an expert on TB's but there's lots I like about her. Hard to say as she is standing resting a leg and the camera angle isn't helping, but she seems to have good limbs, nice feet and he neck looks well set on.

She has a high wither, not unsual for a TB though and she still appears a little croup high.

She is lacking in muscle tone and topline, but that will come in time with the right work. Lots to like and I think you will have yourself a very smart little lady there.:)

PS- My fingers are itching to pull her mane!!

Thank you :)

I've been itching to pull her mane for a long time... but have been holding off as she's doing nothing and I thought 'au-naturel' was going to offer her more protection from the elements while she's putting on condition.

I'm planning a good few weeks/months long-reining to build up her muscles before I sit on her, she's still such a baby.

I love ex.racers and she looks a sweetie, such a kind face.

If you haven't already done so, I would get a chiropractor to give her a once over. Racing as a 2 y.o. won't have done her any favours physically and it would be as well to get any little niggles sorted out before you re-start her.

Good luck with her!

I am no expert but she looks very nice to me. Very nice legs and feet and TBH I think overall she is in good condition considering not working. I am used to short coupled horses so her back looks long to me - I guess fairly common in a TB - but suggests you will need to do lots of long & low to build up her top line gradually. Long reining sounds spot on to me for that. Good luck with her!

Thank you everyone :)

She is a real sweetie, especially now she's got over being so timid/nervous, and I'm glad no-one thinks she's too thin - her weight is a constant battle, especially through the winter, but we seem to be winning!

My first thought was what a beautiful face. She looks like a real sweetie, bright and alert.
The photo isn't the best for cc but she looks to have a good shoulder, flat knees, strong, short cannons and good feet, possibly a bit long-backed, so as someone else said, it would be a good idea to have her back checked before re-backing her.

I think shes gorgeous! Lacking topline but she's a really nice girl.
My TBs are awfully lacking in topline right now so I can't talk

GET THAT MANE TRIMMED!!!!
