I have a shettie out on loan, it was with a family but it wasnt suitable for the kid so through a very knowledgeable mutal friend it went to another lady as a lead rein.
Now, I will admit I have NOT been down to see where she is - its currently not something I can do due to financial reasons, but, the mutual friend is someone who I would trust not to pick a weirdo - that and she has the persons pony in her care to be broken at the moment.

But I have spoken to the person and I ask how she is........but its hard to get an answer from the person!! Its now annoying me.

I CANNOT have the pony back at the moment, no where to keep it and no money to keep it - I am currently trying to decide what will actually happen with said pony - its unsellable as she has arthritis. But Daughter does want her back to ride (but she is 4 and wants to be a princess fireman!).

I don't think I am being pushy.........contact every 4 weeks or so seems fine to me. OK, that's more than I had with loanee of my pony eons ago, but now we have FB and the likes.

UGH.

Eh, tbh with what I've read in some threads about disaster loans, I'd at the very least want to meet the loaner and see where pony is being kept.
How far away is the pony?
At the very least I'd expect updates from the loaner, including photos.

The owner of my mare doesnt contact me. I send updates but so far dont get a response. I've had her eight weeks and she hasnt been to see her!

The only time we were in communication was in the beginning when i was close to handing her back (she was vile and vicous)

Am I bothered? Hmmm not sure really. I wouldnt mind a quick one line email back acknowledging the fact ive sent a two pager and pics to update her on our progress!!

One of mine is out on loan and am in pretty regular contact with the woman and go see him every 3months or so. Also have her on Facebook so photos come up every so often or status about what they've been up to.

I think in your situation if you can't get too see the pony I'd want a update and photos once a month.

I wouldn't be happy if mine didn't get in touch for a long time, but she's pretty good and even if she's doesn't and I send her a message she always replays that day.
