Hello Again,

Okay, so one of the girls at the stable is going to ride my horse a couple of times a week for her confidence. I'm okay with this at the moment and want nothing in return.

I would however, feel better if I have something in place to cover me. My horse is insured for vets bills etc so that's fine. I have BHS Gold membership for 3rd party liability.

Would I be best with some sort of contract (she'll ride once a week and in an enclosed area). This may change next year, depending on if she wants to ride the horse more as I'll be backing my youngster. - are there any types of contracts online that I can use as a template?

I'm going to check that she has rider insurance. Am I missing anything else?

Thank you all for your input/advice.

Can't offer any advise on this sorry, but I just wanted to say that although I think you're doing the right thing re contract and rider insurance, isn't it a shame that today's world has meant that these things have become so important and gone are the days when you would be quiet happy letting someone ride your horse without all this fuss!

Hi Letslip, it is a shame and I really wish I could trust this girl (especially as I'm letting her ride my baby) BUT I've seen the horror stories on here as well and have got to cover my back. I would have jumped at this chance when I was younger but that's the way it's all going now. :(

Hi think you've just about covered things there's a loan contract on BHS website and on horsetoloan website which you can alter to suit your needs.
