Anyone know how it works?

Think the venue might have made a mistake in adding up anyway which has confused me even more.

I add the column up to 132, they put down 159 - giving a % of 79.5% (can manage that bit

) but then posted my score to be 41.

If my score was 132/200 = 66% shouldn't my score have been 34? or is there some secret formula

Very confused

Yep, you're right, at BE events you just work out your percentage, take it away from 100, and that gives the penalty points. So you should have got 34.

At FEI events it gets more confusing - you have to do the above calculation and then multiply the penalties by 1.5 to give your penalty score, so if you get 60%, you multiply 40 by 1.5 and get a score of 60. It basically has the effect of spreading the scores out more.
