My horse (7yr old Dutch WB mare) gets very tense sometimes at home but particularly when out doing her dressage. She gets so tense that her way of going is affected - hollow through the back, snatchy contact, not listening to me, very downhill and can be strong and fast and quite difficult to contain!

She's not spooky or badly behaved, she just needs to relax! No medical issues and everything has been done - teeth every year, chiro every 3 months, brand new saddle fitted for her and is generally a happy healthy horse - but gets very tense!!

I started using a micklem which she likes but having had her at dressage on Sunday with the micklem It hasnt helped with the tension 😔. She's in either a neue schule tranz angled or a verbindent - both bits seem to be fine for her but still she gets tense!

I've ordered Cool Calm and Collected on some recommendations but wondered if anyone has seen this supplement help with tension in a non spooky non naughty horse?

Thanks in advance.

I have recently started using CCC, brilliant stuff! It doesn't particularly dull my mare down, more just allows her to cope with life a little easier! Shes not particularly naughty but just recently started becoming very tense and then more spooky. Outcome has been she is much less but no loss of omph. I use the starter pack and then added the magnesium.

Thanks for that - I'm hoping mine has a good result too. I got the starter pack and we are 1 week into it. No probs eating it (and she's a really really fussy eater!!). Was a bit mad on one of the 2 days off but I've read that can happen. I'm not expecting any results after just one week but I do have Dressage tomo and will see how she goes. She was super relaxed and swinging away when I rode tonight so if that keeps up I'll def be able to say it's the CCC. Fingers crossed 😄😃

I'm using the mag free version - I'd definitely say it was an improvement; enough so to warrant the cost!

Well I was at Dressage today and my horse has been on CCC for 7 days. 2 weeks ago I was at Dressage and we were last in the Novice tests and my score was a very very disappointing (but deserved) 54% . Tension, snatching, hollowing and not listening - all together a worried little horse.

Today, we did 2 novice tests and we were 4th in both - and very big classes. We have finally broken the 70% barrier which is the first ever and 69% in he other test. My horse was unrecognisable!!

She was by no means 100% relaxed but she was breathing (which is a good start lol), she was listening, swinging through her back and no evidence at all of her being the usual worried way that she always is!

I cannot wait to see if she continues as the only thing I have changed is the CCC and as I said, she's only been on it for 7 days!!

As an aside, I have in the past tried magic syringe (made her worse), relax me (I thought it made her more chilled about being out but not at all for her tension when ridden and nupafeed (no difference).

So, I look forward to seeing how she works with CCC as if today is anything to go by I might just get her 'over' it and hopefully she will realise life's not all bad (and neither is dressage lol).

I also use this on my v.stressy / spooky KWPN (Jazz) - it has worked wonders. ,y friend also used it on her WB and it transformed him. Can't rate it highly enough!

I have a non spooky boy who is on CCC. We had to tinker with the Magnesium levels but he is a different horse so I am very pleased with the results and I tried other options before Equifeast which did not work. We are on the
Mag Free.

2 weeks in and we were out again at BD event and this time she was even better!!! She was 1st and 2nd in her novice tests!! And for the first time since owning her she got her first BD points! The horse is just so different (in a good way lol). It's amazing the difference between a relaxed horse and one that is rigid with tension!

Again, still more to come as there were some minor moments where I could feeling tensing up - mainly at the judges box and the noise from outside but they came and went whereas normally she would be horrible to ride and very snatchy.

Fingers crossed this is going to continue as I've been battling with her nerves / tension for 2 years and all I want her to do is relax! The results are fab and I've ordered the next tub for when we move on to the maintenance dosage.

It's brilliant! I'm out again this weekend so will update then on her progress as that will be 3 weeks into the loading period.

Glad its working for you :o) Certainly seems like it is worth its cost to me. I found their service brilliant, I received a f/up call a month after the initial purchase to make sure I was happy. I cant stop singing its praises.
