I’m searching for a cheaper alternative equivalent to Thermatex for an exercise sheet, pref a NON waterproof and a wrap around design.

I was recently recommended a Swish Thermocell by another H&H member but unfortunately they rang today to say that they were unable to fulfil my order  They have sold out.

So, I’ve seen the Mark Todd Coolex … is this comparable to a Thermatex exercise sheet? If not any better suggestions welcome.

(Also if anyone knows of the cheapest place to get the Coolex! ;) )

Thanks :)

Aerbourne one maybe? I have a gee tac exercise rug that's great, don't know if they do thermatex types though.

I've got the thermatex quarter sheet but a Coolex rug. In all honesty I prefer the quality of the Coolex as the "cells" are smaller so less prone to stretching, however the colours are more limited which is why I went for the thermatex quarter rug. My coolex rug is over 4 years old now, well used, and still looks like new so would highly recommend them for quality.

Thanks everyone yet again for your very helpful input! If the lack of colour choice is the only downside, then I think it's a go :)

And Squiggles on Paper you are a star! That's £15 cheaper than could find anywhere, thank youuu :D Just waiting for my refund from Swish (!) via Paypal and then I will be ordering one from there.

that's gutting about swish as was going to post and suggest getting their one - i got mine in the sale for £25 or something and it's gorgeous...sorry to rub salt in to the wound, but in case one comes up again, definitely get it!

Maybe look on ebay for second hand ones?

Sorry but IMO there is nothing better than a Thermatex and although they are very pricey they last for years and years and do exactly what is written on the tin.

My suggestion.... save up and get the real deal!

I have a mark Todd wrap around. It's a thick fleecy rug and is a nice weight that it doesn't flap - I'm in a very windy area! I like it as its not got the waterproof cover that makes a noise in the rain. My boy is a sensitive soul!
Really happy with the rug. Just a shame it doesn't have a edge in reflective material (and of course it isn't orange :D)!

^^^ My opinion too....

Have had my thermatex quarter sheet for some.....ummmmmm at least 10-12 years!!!!! Still looks a good as new! Not faded, not stretched, no holes, nothing worn about it in the slightest! Is going strong on it's 3rd horse now and I would honestly say is my best ever buy. Doesn't move in the slightest and I've jumped in it too.

My JRT has a matching one ;) and she is now 10 and hers has never worn either and gets A LOT of wear.................

Hi have the Rambo Grand Prix Exercise sheet and I absolutely LOVE it. It's waterproof (but not rustly unstretchy waterproof material), very smart, very soft material and dirt doesn't cling to it. It's also a wraparound so no rucking up under the saddle. It doesn't flap in the wind either.

It's also got a gorgeous tan checky fabric on the underside and i'm pretty sure it's reversible.

Thank you to everyone who suggested the Coolex :D It arrived today and I am very pleased with it!

(I can also highly recommend Throstle Nest whom I ordered it from, excellent service)
