Coopers Fly Repellent Plus

My mare gets attacked by flies at this time of year. I have tired almost every fly spray under the sun and none have really worked so I called the vet and they suggested Coopers fly spray. I was just wondering if any one else has used this or has any other suggestions I am open to ideas now!!
 
We use Coopers and have to say it is the one repellent which genuinely does work. Make sure you patch test it thoroughly first though.
 
Think a similar post was on Stable Yard, you may need to flick back to last week but yes its great stuff I used it and yes I bought it because I was told vets recommend it and use it (specially for treatment for lice/mites etc) also it's supposed to help with sweet itch too. My horse started rubbing his mane and I did him with that, twice and he's been fine since (it wasn't sweet itch) but a similar kinda thing.

Also used it on my another horse, who had these fly bites/rubs and she's stopped rubbing and the the little area cleared up straight away after a few weeks and she's been fine since too.

Definitely worth the money, make sure you wear the gloves provided, other wise your hands will hum ding a ling for weeks lol!

I use it too - well I mean my horse does!
It certainly seems to work. I was poo-picking in the field the other week and noticed both horses were being plagued by flies so I brought them in and smothered them in the cooper's fly stuff. When I put them back out, there were no flies on them at all - at least for the time it took me to finish off doing the field!
It does come with a handy sponge cloth to apply it and some protective gloves. It isn't the cheapest but it does last a while!
 
more expensive than the rest but it does exactly what it says on the tin lol! Altho if you worked out how much you spend on non effective sprays which you have to spray on every 10 mins to be effective I think the Coopers is not such a bad price after all.
Only problem I have is getting the daft chestnut let me near him with the gloves on and scary sponge
