Does Deosect do the same? I want it to kill off lice and assist with flies (my mare lives out and I only see her at weekends, if I asked the yard to spray her daily with fly repellent they'd never catch her!)

I've started using tritec 14 instead, if you can't find it in shop it's easy to get online

Just googled, indeed it does everything AND they do a small bottle for about £20!

Ok, now I've ordered some.

I'm assuming it is ok to use a sponge to apply it? My mare hates being sprayed with things that smell, I can spray her with a water bottle all day but she's not keen on strong smells, probably something to do with her being a New Forest and on the forest for the first 6 years of life!

and it works!! started using it last year when friend had a new forest with crab flies and it got rid of them, I've done 1 treatment on my 3, 2 of who definitely had lice and they now seem clear

I've heard that too. Apparently it has to be taken off the market at intervals to be safety tested.
