Just bought my first bottle but am concerned about using it around the eye area. My filly has very sensitive eyes which will run continually if the flies are allowed to harrass her. She wears a fly mask during the day, but still needs protection during the late evening and early mornings (before I can get up to the yard before work to put it back on.) Any suggestions what would be good and reasonably long lasting?

Read cattle fly tags might be worth a go, plaited into her forelock. But then read online that someone had tried this and it didn't work. Anyone tried them and know whether they're a viable option for eye protection?

Thank you!

I wipe Coopers in a stripe down the front of my horses' faces and smear on their cheeks from a sponge, just, as toffee44 says, avoiding the immediate eye area. I've done this for years and have never had a problem. It's really effective stuff. If conditions warrant it though I use full face masks and just Coopers on their bodies. You may find doing faces every other day proves sufficient once it's mounted up. You could also dilute a little with water for applying to your filly's face if you're concerned about sensitivity so it's not quite as strong.
