Copper bits - Opinions?

For those of you who have used copper bits/bits with copper rollers, what did you think of them? Did they help the horse relax, or did it have no effect? Every horse is different but I would like to see whether its effectiveness is in the majority or minority

zakkie loves his copper roller tomb thumb bit-thumbs up from him and me!!(haha im so funny!) he really accepted it, rather than other bits which he willtoss and play about with

Hemir hated it...i eally like tehm but H just wouldn't settle into it even after a week!!

flint loves his cyprium snaffle and his tom thumb with copper rollers! salvates exepts and moves so well in them

I wouldn't use one after I read its like putting a battery on your tongue (if I'm thinking of the right thing

), thats why it causes them to salivate so much.

I've tried a copper roller and found it didn't make a huge difference, if you want to encourage softness and salivation I'd recommend the aurigan KK bits. Although all of mine are also happy and soft in the stainless steel bits.

I use a KK bit and she seems to like it. It's meant to be a warmer metal then stainless steel.
