Copying.....

If someone on your yard had a youngster the same age as yours, and they copied every single little thing you do with yours would it drive you nuts? Or would you think, people have to learn somehow?

Maybe i am an exception but i'm finding it a little annoying!

Everything i have done has been copied, putting numnah on, rug on, saddle on (not done up), roller on, bridle headpiece on, waving arms about, jumping up and down, pulling and tidying mane, even to the extent of watching me in the field lead him up to look at something scary, and then them doing the same thing!

Just feel like i can't do anything without being scrutinized and spied on so they can then do the same thing, its like they don't have any ideas of their own?!

As you say, everyone needs to learn, and they obviously think that you have the knowledge and experience to do a good job if they are doing everything you do.

Have you spoken to them? They may welcome a bit of friendly advice but be a bit scared to ask in case they come across as being unable to cope.

Have a word - I bet they'd really appreciate it.

It would do my head in, but think of it this way what your doing must be right/good idea if they are copying you.

They obviously see you as the 'expert', so I would take it as a compliment. But having had something very similar happen to me, I do know how annoying it is.

Go have a word and ask them how they are getting on with their youngster.

I think I would take it as a compliment. They see you as a role model and someone whome they can learn from. I think I would be activly encouraging them to do as you do. You might end up with two cracking horses ont he yard that way.

Sense would tell me to see it as above but I'd still find it incredibly annoying!

annoying but sweet and such a compliment. Trouble is if you say anything and they don't know what to do they could end up getting it so wrong.

Would just be nice if they talked to me about ideas, rather than spying on me!

Am not sure what is going to happen when it actually comes to them 'breaking in' and riding their one though!
