Can anyone recommend a good pair of cordless clippers? My horse is nervous at being clipped but is fine at having his face and heels trimmed with my small pair of cordless clippers. I would, therefore, like to buy a pair to do a fullish clip. I have about £200 to spend and would love to hear if you can recommed any particular makes and model please.

I have the MOSER HORSELINE AVALON - they do a detailed review on the Peasridge website and you can compare to other cordless clippers but they do score highly) they were about £189 from Frogpool Manor and are fantasic, quiet and whilst my boy is not too hairy, quite a fine coat, have also used them to trace clip hairy pony and a cob and they stood up to the job. Come with a ceramic blade which is more expensive to get sharpened but stays sharper for longer and is wider so is a good blade. Hope this helps.

Thanks Cly, I have heard of them and will certainly look at Peasridge website. Also, my new horse who is a Dutch warmblood has a much coarser coat than my Anglo arab had. i have read some cordless dont't work too well on coarse coats, so these sound really good. Thanks again.

I have always had Wolseley main clippers but got my mate to come and clip my horse with her cordless clippers (I cant afford to get another pair yet). She has the Heiniger Cordless ones. They are really quiet and get on with the job no problems, including hogging manes and clipping full feathers off. Highly recommend the Heiniger ones.

Another vote for the heininger cordless clippers here

. I use them on my two hairies (in sig - they've got very thick coats) and also managed to do a very clipper-shy horse, who hadn't been done for 10 yrs, with them as they're so quiet.

I have the MOSER HORSELINE AVALON ones too and love them. Really light and quiet and easy to use. Also have a pair of Moser dog trimmers which I got for £50 which I have managed to do the legs of a Shire with, and my friend used them to hog her horse, so don't think they will have a problem going through thick coats!

Hi
I have just brought the Liveryman Harmony clippers with battery pack. I have two shire x's and needed to clip off their feathers and I was struggling with other clippers.

The Liveryman ones are brilliant, they last for 3 hours with the battery pack and are quiet / cordless. They went through the thick hair on my mares legs really well, it took me a quarter of the time to clip the legs than it had before.

They cost me approx £160 delivered to home with one year warranty.
If you need any further info, let me know
Regards

Ive got both the Moser Avalon clippers and the Lister Liberty clippers. I have found the Mosers to be extremely quiet yet unreliable at times. The Listers are slightly noisier and heavy duty but they are in a completely different league to the Mosers. They clip beautifully and are as powerful as any corded clippers i have come across. It depends on what you require from a cordless clipper but my vote would definitely be with the Lister Liberty clippers.
