I'm looking into buying some cordless clippers. Can anyone recommend any particular make / type as there are so many available I'd like to hear some recommendations!

My lister showmans are now in their 6 th year of very hard work ( I run a mobile horse clipping service) and still going. This year I will be buying a pair of the lister libertys which are the replacement for the showmans, because they are a heavy duty reliable set ! You can get them for around £290 if you go to hcs services.

I bought lister liberty clippers three months ago. They are great. Only fault I can find is that when you plug them for charging there is no little light to let you know that it is working. I was unfortunate enough to plug them into a plug that wasn't working and only found this out the next day when clipping.

Lister showmans or libertys, friend used to clip my girl with showmans, now best friend does her with libertys, will save up for a set of libertys, also nice and small, very easy to handle.

Oh yes and best friends set does 40 RS horses all through winter

my Moser avalons packed up in their second year halfway through a clip. sent them off to be serviced for £18 and they sent me a free pair of ceramic blade worth £30 so can't really complain, but was a bit annoying when most of the field commented on my unusual clipping skills at the meet the next day!

My Avalons are Fab. Had them just over 2 years & i do a lot of clipping with them, they havnt let me down once yet. Would of liked the Lister Showman or Liberty as i think they do a nice job but couldnt afford them, & the Avalons are as good imo.

I've been having a few problems with my Avalons recently, hoping to send them to be serviced and see if they can fix them. If not i will be getting a set of lister Libertys as everyone seems to be very pleased with theirs!!

There are three of us on our yard with the Avalon/Artiko mains version and we've all had problems with them. I'm sending mine back to see if there is something wrong with the tension. They are fab when they work but sometimes they stop cutting (a lot!)

If you take the blades out and seperate them then put them back together this should make them work again, at least for a while. If not leave them to cool completely then try the same thing. at least you should be able to finish your clip.
