Corectly fitting a drop noseband?

I have been riding Beau in a Cavesson and Flash as he just loves to try and grab the bit and go! I have changed his bit to a loose ring and that has helped, but he is still trying his damndest to open his gob.

So I bought a drop noseband as I was told this woul dbe better than a flash - and he HATES the flash and tries to rub his nose on his legs, plus I dont like the way that it seems to affect his breathing even when correctly fitted. I can hear him snort - he has BIG nostrils!

Anyhoo..........................Does anyone have a pic/info on how to correctly position a drop noseband?

Should'nt it be approx 2 or 4 fingers width (sorry can't remember which) above the nostrils if you know wht I mean.

Both drop and flash need to be four fingers width above the top of the nostrils or they will affect breathing.

hmm. Beaus flash is about just over a palms width above them and it still seems to have an effect!
