I know a few people on here use them but I'm just concerned as to how easy they are to muck out? Do you just muck out like a normal shavings bed? I.e throw it to the sides and take out the muck and wee, or do you pick amongst it and then fill the gaps with clean stuff? If that makes any sense at all?

I use LWP, but it's pretty much the same, so I'll answer:)

They form a stable bed and the poo kind of stays on top, therefore makes it very easy to muck out - you just pick the poo and remove wee patches when they appear on the surface.

It is really easy once you get used to it! I just tend to muck it out pretty much as shavings as my mare likes to walk her poo everywhere you get used to them very quickly!

i muck mine right out daily, take the wet out and just chuck the rest up against the wall and the muck will roll off. Takes 10 minutes.

That's what I'd be doing for the mare. She's rather messy. How many bags do you use a week to top up? I'm just trying to work out if it's cheaper than using shavings.
