I am trying to get my stable all neat and ready for winter as in the grand scheme of things its not that far away :(

Rubber matting is fitted and i want to sort out the water arrangements next as my pony has a habit of trying to pick up his tub trug, and wastes hay that falls to the floor

I was thinking of getting two of the large stubbs corner buckets/mangers, one for food and one for water and also try a hay bag to reduce waste instad of a hay net.

Do any of you use corner buckets for water or haybags ? Do they work ok / hold enough?

I worked at one yard where we did the horses for the next door landowner the horses in work where on our yard the resting ones at his home they used the corner mangers for water it was a complete pain the frames tended to pull away from the walls as they where very very heavy when full of water and you had to scoop the water out to empty them which took ages verses a bucket .

I use a corner bucket for water as it's the only thing I've found that my boy doesn't smash. I just put it on the floor in the corner not suspended from a bracket, (although we did have to fit a small bar to hook it over as he worked out how to put his foot in it and tip it over). They are really good, strong buckets as the teeth marks on mine show.

They are too heavy to lift full, so I just use a normal black bucket or hose to fill it. It holds 2 normal black buckets and that is just right for my boy overnight. It's farily empty in the morning so no problem emptying and cleaning it.
