My mare became very lame two weeks ago had the farrier out and he found a corn in her left foot,he did what he ahd to do left her shoe on as he said there was no preasure from it,she has very thin soles and suffers from pedal osteitis.

Had the farrier back out on tuesday to look at her as shes still very sore,he said he could see no reason why shes so lame on it ? but it seems a bot strange that it only started from the corn? how long do they take to clear up?

Corns are nasty,. Usually caused by an ill fitting shoe or too much pressure on the bars from a tight shoe.

In the circumstances, what with the pedal ostitis as wel as the corn, the shoe had to be put back on. Lameness can take upto a month to completely go, dependant on the depth of the bruising.
