My boy Clyde is a cob/ID cross with all white feet. I was recommended Effol as a good hoof treatment, rather than oil, which my farrier says makes their feet cook in the hot weather. Anyway, I have been faithfully painting it on and rubbing it into the coronet as instructed. Clyde has very strong feet, by the way. I have noticed over the past few days that his coronets are peeling, are very soft and you can actually scrape it off. Is this normal?

why aren't you using cornucresince? Thought that was the best thing? That's what you used to use on Blue wasn't it?

Cos the farrier told me to, it's very good stuff, his hooves look lovely apart from the peeling coronets. Could it be that he is standing in wet grass and that's reacting with the Effol?
