Also does a double bridle have to be used?

Horse should be trimmed up and plaited with a pulled tail, double bridle or pelham (although snaffle in a novice class), straight cut saddle and v v small numnah if one at all. Coloured browband to compliment horse.

Traditionally the horse should be shod with light steel or aluminium plate.

Rider

Navy Jacket, Navy velvet hat, Coloured tie, yellowish breeches, long boots, spurs are compulsary

well it doesnt state whether its a novice or not class so im assuming most riders will be riding in doubles. Mine is a novice and never had a double in so shell be wearing her snaffle bridle. Also my horse isnt shod but cant see that that shod loose us points surely? Spurs compulsary

? must get practising then as it isnt going to be a first on the show ground.

I always thought it was blue/black jacket but been looking at the Great Yorkshire photos and they were all in tweed. Is it different jackets for different times of the day and whether its a championshop or not?

tweed jaket for riding horse classes navy for hacks, never black unless your male.

you can wear dummy spurs if you want.
doesnt have to be shod at all and all the ones that ive seen are shod normally.

I think tweed hacking jacket is correct for daytime, and navy for evening performances. Spurs compulsory, but to be honest if its at local level anything goes! you can use dummy spurs, and use whatever bridle your horse goes best in
