Velvet hat preferably navy (black hardly suits anybody imo)
Tweed jacket (Im a big fan of keepers tweed)
with toning shirt and tie, not a stock,
Gloves must be brown of some shade.
Beige breeches
Black leather boots with dummy spurs if your horse wont stand the genuine article.
If you want to show your racer as a riding horse/hack in the afternoon then a dark jacket to match your hat is correct at county shows, hope this helps!
I'm hoping to show my anglo arab at local shows and county level this year. Can someone please tell me the correct dress for this?
Also do I have to show my horse plaited / unplaited.
Thanks Custardsmum, means I have to go and purchase a velvet hat! Got a JTE one at the moment! ( Well its about time I bought a new posh one!)
Laugh is, I've entered, so has a fellow livery, but my OH is working that day, (At the same county show and I'm disgusted I've had to pay for medical cover as he is doing it - I get my med cover free when he's around!) and I've got no one to drive the lorry!!! I'm not brave enough yet!
Think I need a quick course in how to drive it so I can actually get there!
Ok turnout depends on the type of horse, but hacks wear navy jackets, everything else tweed.
Navy hat and depending on the show either a beagler (if you feel safe enough to wear one) or a navy velvet with flesh coloured harness
Have you got a picture of him? Tb's can be anything from a hack to a hunter and what you would turn him out as would depend o n how much bone he has and what type he looks like
