Hi All,

I don't post very often but have been a showjumper all my life and am hoping to get my new girl out eventing this summer.

Therefore not sure on the correct attire! I am a typical showjumper with black jacket, pink collar, white breeches etc!
Really want a tweed jacket but struggling on the colour, personally I love the blue tweed but from the research I have done this isnt correct?

She is an Iron grey if that helps towards decision making!

Any suggestions and help would be much appreciated!
Thank you :)

I have blue tweed (recently purchased) and at the BE event I had a few comments as to how smart we looked.

Any kind of tweed really, and preferably beige breeches, but people do wear white - I used to! If you have tweed, you want a different stock/tie. Spotty coloured ones look smart.

I wear a tweed jacket, any colour of tweed is fine. I wear mine with a spotty stock. White or cream breeches are fine and just make sure your hat has the correct testing - you will find the info on the british eventing website.

Have fun!

Thank you everyone thats great.

Do you generally buy the jacket slightly bigger for your body protector to go underneath or not?
Never worn one for showjumping before

Depends if you want to wear a body protector for DR/SJ? I don't, although that is just personal preference. I normally put my back protector over my XC shirt. I think most people put a BP over their jacket if they wear one for DR/SJ.
Your hat will need to be tagged, so make sure you have one to correct standard (and kitemarked) and no fixed peaks to go XC.
I normally wear beige breeches, tweed jacket, muted coloured but spotty stock (i have black/white and white/black ones) and peaked helmet for DR/SJ then swap tweed and helmet for XC shirt and skull cap for XC. Enjoy and good luck! :)
