Can you help as I have been giving her the 150gm measurement as recommended of her dried food twice a day and some friends are saying it is too much. I am going to have her weighed and condition scored tomoro cos I am fretting now. She gets NO human treats, none at all, just the odd chicken or lamb with her biscuits (but then the biscuit portion is halved).

I feed by eye, if she looks fat give her less, if she looks thin give her more and if she looks just right and has plenty of energy, keep doing what you're doing.

Staffys vary greatly in size.

Mine is 14" at the shoulder and weighs 14.5 kilo. She is very trim and fit. She gets a mug full of chudleys working crunch twice a day, she has almost the same amount as my lab and 2/3 of what our large boxer gets. It really does depend on the indiv dog.

As per previous post, sorry for delay in reply as I had no internet. I have halved her feed, vet was happy with her weight but did say she is a little "thickset" so I dont have time to up the walks, she does pretty well with 2 walks a day or sometimes 1 really long 1 (depending on the heat) so smaller portions it is for now - she doesnt seem to have noticed or moaned at me with pleading eyes yet!! Thanks.
