My OH has a pair of M&S mole trousers, check shirt, tie and a pair of good boots, a wax jacket and trousers, doesn't have to be expensive but tidy, someone on his shoot told him 'you can never be too smart'

My OH gets a lot of his shooting clothing from countrywide stores. They seem fairly inexpensive compared to specialist gun shops. Eg he bought a check shirt from them yesterday for £8.69 and he bought his moleskin trousers there too and the obligatory flat cap!

MY OH wears green moleskin trousers, a check shirt, green jumper, tweed shooting jacket and flat cap. I'd say most important thing though is good wellies. He struggled last year because some of the land on the shoot is boggy but this year has some lovely wellies with a really thick neoprene lining to keep his feet warm for a whole day out. Can't help with where to buy it, we get his bits from game and county fairs during the summer

Make sure he buys really decent water proof trousers/leggings and coat. When you are beating, whatever the weather, the gameplots, kale whatever are always wet!!. Also his footwear is very important, comfortable and waterproof. At a lot of the shoots round here the guns very rarely see the beaters so appearance is not important - its clothes for the job that is important!

Try Mole Valley Farmers - they have a website if you are not near by.

Go to Sportsman Gun Centre who have just taken over Litts - they have plenty of smart breeks, shirts, jerseys, warm jackets etc that will look just the part. I swear by the breeks from Cambrian Ratcatcher, very hard wearing moleskin, which have been abused out beagling and on the river and still come up good as new.

Not sure of your location but agree with Ravenwood :D- Mole Valley Farmers are a good start. Sportsmans is also a great place. Again , agree with Ravenwood on having a good quality waterproof coat and leggins (i have Treggins if that means anything to anyone?!) Doesnt have to be moleskins altho they do look smart and are warm on the frosty mornings, a check shirt and tie and a (green?) jumper ... which can be purchased from any normal shop i guess ...

Any ladies out there looking for shooting clothing?? I know of a very lovely site for clothes and accessories, it doesnt have the widest range of clothing but what they do have is great - i would highly recommend !! Not sure if i'm allowed to post address on here so PM me if you want it. ;) :p  xx

Waterproof leggings are popular too. Don't look too glamorous, but keep the legs dry and protected. You can slip them off for lunch and have clean dry trousers underneath.
