Corrective Pad/Numnah with shims - advice on which to buy?

There's the Le Meiux one on eBay from Cork Farm Equestrian for £41 delivered.

LeM stuff is always really really good quality and it comes with 6mm and 10mm shim sets, iirc.

I have the Premier Equine correction half pad and also the corrective jump pad. The saddler came the other week and said she'd never seen one before but that she really liked it! It has two different thicknesses of shim with a shockproof layer and has air holes that wick away sweat. And not expensive when you get it on the 20% discount day, although I think it might be on the 40% discount at the moment!

I have a Nummed Shimmy Pad. I can put shims in front or back both sides, I have one set of shims for the back and two for the front which came with it. It has a sheepskin underside.

The only thing I do find is it can slip back because there's no strap or anything to hold it to the saddle or saddlecloth.

I have the mattes, fab quality, washing & wearing well.
Friends le mieux has fallen apart in less than a year - big slice of sheepskin on the underside has split, looks like the pad is made from pieces of sheepskin sewed together.

I like the premier equine one, much better than the prolite one. I like a half pad that I can use with a numnah as it is more flexible than a shimmed numnah.

I had one of these, it is a nice piece of kit, the only problem I had was the rats found it and loved the taste of the sheepskin :(

I have just got a lemieux plain one and am pleased with it so far. I think it is a bit softer than the prolite which a friend has. Also I like that it came in a smaller size

Thank you everyone for all your replies. Have a shortlist now of:

Prolite with 4 pockets or Prolite with 6 pockets
Le Mieux with 4 pockets (similar to prolite) but comes in white and two sizes
Premier Equine with 4 pockets
Mattes correction half pad or saddlecloth/numnah with 4 pockets

I think I am possibly veering towards either the LeMieux or the Premier Equine pad as both come in white which I would prefer.
The Mattes is a bit out of price range, unless I could find a half pad with shims 2nd hand, that I can use on top of a saddlecloth.

What size is your saddle though. I found the PE one much too short for my saddle. They give the dimensions in their website so you should be able to tell but my saddle is a 17.5" and I didn't like the fit at all. Shame because I like the quality and feel.

That is a really good price! I have one of these, they are brilliant, I paid more than double that for mine I'm sure!

Saddler suggested I used a prolite; mine only has two pockets though on the wither (Wide saddle but pony has a high wither) also have the le miex one but no pads for it. Just have it as normal sheepskin.

Well I was almost "sold" on the idea of buying a Le Mieux pad in white

BUT - then realised the Premier Equine one is hugely reduced for this weekend in the sale and is £29.99 which is a bit of a bargain if they are good.

dixie - thats funny about you finding it short, can I ask when this was please? They only seem to do the one size now Full Size and it's 54cm long which is longer than either the Prolite or the Le Mieux, although I only have a small 17" saddle, so I was deliberating that it might be too long on my saddle??? I wonder if they've changed them recently, did you return it saying it was too short?
