We've just started on our second tub of the 908g (2lb) Corta-Flx. We bought 3 of these tubs from eBay America.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Corta-Flx-Powder-2lb...1QQcmdZViewItem

The tubs contain a 1oz scoop, and the feeding directions for a 1100lb horse is 1 scoop per day.
1lb = 16oz, so a tub will last 32 days.
However, i've just found this:

http://www.mwg-equestrian.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=EACOR

which says that 227g lasts one month, and the 908g lasts FOUR MONTHS!!

Having only just started feeding Corta-Flx, we're yet to use a tub from the UK as it seemed cheaper to buy from the USA, but looking at this, it isnt.

So could someone please tell me if you feed less of the UK versions, or if the UK one has been worked out for a tiny pony?!!!

And also, looking at both products, are they even the same thing?!!!! At first glance they do look the same, but then they dont!

Grrrrrr....thought i'd got a bargain!!!

I have looked into this in the past - basically the American version is about a third of the strength of the UK version. Also the American version contains prohibited substances so if you compete at affiliated competition you are technically breaking the rules.

Really?!

I'm not worried about the affilated bit, because we dont compete at that level, but still....! I thought we'd gone through the first tub quite fast, but i never took note of the date we started, so i couldn't work it out. Plus, it said to double-dose for the first 5 days.

I've just found this

and when comparing to the tub infront of me, ours is poo!

I could swear i HAVE seen a positive improvement in the way Mo is striding out - am i just seeing what i want to see, or will this stuff be of SOME benefit? Just so i know whether to use up what we've got left, or not bother.

Thank you for your reply.

I have used both and Cairo seems to do equally well on them. The US did work out cheaper, but now the postal rates have gone up again, it is not such a saving.

Am looking again at prices to see which is the most cost effective.

Also I can really really recommend instant linseed for stiffness - Cairo has really had his movement improve since being fed it. You also get a lovely coat.

I found the US one is cheaper to buy but you need to feed them more of it, so it works out about the same or even more expensive.

I also compared the ingredients and they are very similar but there are some differences but I can't remember what now as it probably didn't mean anything to me!
