Hi,

Just want to pick some brains if thats ok?

has anyone used top spec 10:10 joint care? if so has it worked?
My horse is on cortaflex and i'm not sure its doing anygood.

I am just in the process of switching my feed to top spec and wondered if i used all the same brand would it make any difference (were they designed to go togehter?)

Thanks x

Hi,
No feeding the same brand makes absolutely no difference as it is just a standard Glucosamine and MSM mix so shop around for the best product. You need to look for a product that doses at 10g Glucosamine, 10g MSM daily of a high quality compound to have significant impact. You may find www.riaflex-equine.co.uk of interest. There's quite a bit of useful info.
Hope that helps

I use TopSpec 10:10... It is absolutely fantastic stuff, my IDxTB mare has loosened up a lot since I put her on that (she has been on Cortaflex since she was 7 with no visible improvements).

TopSpec is dosed at 10g Glucosamine and 10g MSM... hence the name

i recommend the TopSPEC balancers tho not tried any supplements.

I have, literally, today put my horse on Grand Meadows Mega GRAND flex. It has optimum levels of gluco and msm. Tub lasts 60 days, no rubbish loading doses. Works out 89p a dose. Will let you know how i get on.

I used Riaflex in the past, tho not convinced it really worked.

My equine vets put on an evening of talks and presentations the other day. One of the presentations was from Cosequin. Not the cheapest around but their scientific testing and verified results tell you all you need to know. I have always been extremely dubious as to whether any supplement can make a difference where time has already caused arthritis in veteran joints, but their double blind data showed improvements in those cases too. Just started Sunny on it. Good luck x
