If I've read the bumpf right....

The 908g pot of Cortaflex costs £50. Maintenance dose is 7g - so tub is 129 days supply at 38p per day.

CortaVet has 5x the active ingredients ofCortaFlex. So the low maintenance dose of 3.75g has 2.5x the active ingedients of the 7g dose of CortaFlex.

The 908g of CortaVet costs £70. Low Maintenance dose is 3.75g (whish is = 2.5x the 7g Cortaflex dose) so a tub lasts 242 days at 28p a day.

So why would anyone use CortaFlex over CortaVet...or am I missing something??

(Just noticed this looking for a joint supp.!)

Try Newmarket Joint Supplement - recommended by vets and has about 90% glucosamine - unlike Cortaflex which has more ash than glucasamine!

I used a whole 3.8lt bottle of cortavet and didn't notice any difference. The bottle cost nearly £300. I have now started using suppleaze gold from aviform and noticed the difference within a week. It costs a lot less than the cortavet too!!

I can buy CortaVet from many stores without any vet involvement?

Horse won't eat Suppleaze Gold at all

Couple of things - 1) Having spoken to MD of Cortaflex, he told me that Cortavet is just over twice as strong as regular Cortaflex. This obviously still makes it cheaper to feed low maintenance dose of Cortavet rather than normal dose of Cortaflex. I don't know why people don't feed Cortavet instead, maybe because it's not publicised? 2) I feed my horse Cortavet, over 10 years I have tried EVERYTHING else and he is 200% better on that than anything and he's got ALOT wrong with him! *BUT* I firmly believe that all horses are different and react differently to different supplements, you've got to experiment to find the right one for your horse.
