Basically its all in the title!

Someone recommended me Cortavet for delicia, they have been through very similar issues with their stallion and apparently, this really helped. :)

Delicia is on micronised linseed, garlic and pure horse feeds pure easy. I dont want to spend money on supplements that a) are not really going to add anything for her and b) expensive with little effect?

Linseed is good for joints and their mobility, should i bother with the cortavet?

Too many decisions....

Horribly expensive through the vets at over £110 a bottle, maybe cheaper online, didn't suddenly make mine super flexible or gold plated sadly.

I used Cortavet HA which is a powder on an old show jumper and a rottweiler! The rotty was very stiff and sore when she arrived (a rescue job) and within 2 months she was a nightmare jumping fences and all sorts!

The old show jumper became a hunter with me and he did 3 seasons in a big hedge country with very deep ground. He lived on Cortavet HA for his last 2 seasons and when he had to be pts he went to the kennels who told me that he had virtually no cartilage left in his hocks, yet he'd never been lame.

It certainly worked for me but I suspect every animal is different. Having said that if you've got nothing to loose, try it. It works out far cheaper than the liquid cortaflex. I got mine from our saddlers.

I had one a few years back that showed a miraculous response to cortavet (powder), search through the online pharmacies, there is usually a big variation in price

What about green lipped mussel from health food shops? Its had amazing affects on my very geriatric cat who has now gone from sleeping all day to walking on all 4 legs rather than hobbling around on his 1 good leg! About to start trying it on the horse myself after a friend recommended it.
