My friends 21 year old horse is showing classic navicular signs, she doesnt have a lot of money, but she needs a vet visit to be able to give her bute,we suppose the vet will want to nerve block the horses foot/feet, any ideas how much a nerve block is {so she can be prepared for the bill}

Just doing a nerve block without any follow up is a touch pointless really. We charge around £50 for a palmar digital nerve block, but unless your friend also has probably double that for a navicular bursa block, and a 200-300 more for some x-rays then there's no point in wasting the furst £50 IMO. Plus the possibility that she won't respond to the first block done, and more will be needed.
If she does have navicular, and funds are limited, I would suggest that investing £50 in getting your farrier to put some bar shoes on would be a better option. Bute and box rest, followed by controlled exercise will also be best.
